Today is World AIDS Day.The commemoration in this 37th World AIDS Day is under the theme, “Collective Action: Sustain and Accelerate HIV Progress.”

The first World AIDS Day took place in 1988, providing a platform to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and honor the lives affected by the epidemic. There has been significant progress in addressing HIV and AIDS thanks to advancements in medical research, increased access to treatment and prevention, and a broader understanding of the virus.

By Reporter  The Tobacco Commission has licensed farmers to produce 223 million kilogrammes for the next growing season which represents a 25% increase compared to volumes licensed by this time last year.  The demand for last year was at 190 million kgs but the country only supplied 133 million kgs.
